To me a smoothie is a fun drink becaue it gives me an excuse to have something I normally wouldn't have.  For instance, how many times can you say that you eat different types of fruit in one meal?  If you're shaking your head and think that you do this all the time then you are truly a better person than me!  Here's a curveball for you then: how many times can you say that you put cream cheese and almond extract together in a meal?  None?  Didn't think so, but that's ok because after making this smoothie you can cross that off your bucket list of things to do~

Personally, I’m a fan of Strawberry banana Smoothies, but my mom has always said that I need to be a bit more adventurous with my food choices. What can I say, I’m the kind of guy that can have over 40 choices of ice cream to choose from and still go with vanilla! As I was venturing into the vast land of something unique I came across some bizarre flavors of smoothie that quite frankly turned me off. Apparently people enjoy having meals in liquid form…to say the least. Well, certainly not this guy.

I am admittedly not too skilled when it comes to the baking department. That being said, Kiley has definitely boosted my confidence in being able to not underbake cupcakes! However, if you’re like me and enjoy having a smoothie from time to time but don’t want to commit to over an hour’s worth of work here is a delicious connabun smoothie.

Cinnamon Bun Smoothie

Here's a thought: Do you ever wonder as if someone is doing that same exact thing that you're doing as you're doing it?  Sometimes when I go to the gym or as I'm cooking I like to think about how many people are doing the same thing as me.  Taking this thought a step further, do you ever think about what people in other parts of the world eat or drink?  I'm used to having my normal, but someone down the street certainly has a different normal...what about someone in a different country?

Whatever is it that people eat or drink I'll be sure to whip up a dish or three and share with you all what I've learned!

Cinnamon Bun Smoothie

 

Ingredients

1/2 frozen ripe banana

1/2 cup almond milk (original)

1/2 cup cold water

1/4 tsp vanilla extract

1/4 tsp ground cinnamon, plus more to taste

1/4 cup quick oats

1 oz low fat cream cheese (or 3 oz plain Greek yogurt)

3 - 4 ice cubes

 

Directions

1.Add all ingredients to a blender and process until smooth.

2. Serve immediately.

 

Personal Notes

-If you do not have almond milk, you can use 1/2 cup milk and a 1/4 teaspoon almond extract.
