So, I find myself asking "What can be better than something looks great, tastes great and is great for you?"  One word: Adaptable

One thing I like best about this recpie is that you can either make it as shown or adjust according to whateevr your taste buds desire!

My thinking is I know I shouldn't have a lot, so whatever it is that I have needs to count!  Believe me when I say that the plating for this dish is really easy and only requires a little bit of prep work (and if anyone asks it's a healthy dish, after all it is an apple right?)  All jokes aside, this dish is pretty healthy.  When people think of ice cream they think sugar, sugar and more sugar, but a little bit of sugar won't hurt.  This is especially true since not much ice cream can fit in the apple to begin with so you get just the right amount!

Efrain here!  I've always been a fan of vanilla ice cream (call me boring- we all have our favorites, right?) but sometimes I feel a little guilty about eating too much.  So, I've decided to embrace the concept of flavor not only coming from the ingredients, but also from presentation.

Vanilla & Apple Delight

Vanilla Ice Cream with Apple Base

Ingredients

Apple (I prefer Macintosh or Red Delicious)

Lemon Juice

Vanilla Ice Cream

Caramel Sauce

Directions

1. Hallow out apple

2. Immediately after hallowing out the apple be sure to coat the inside of the apple with lemon juice- this ensures that the apple does not brown

3. Fill apple with vanilla ice cream

4. Drizzle caramel on top

Personal Notes

-If you want more of a chocolate dessert replace the caramel sauce with chocolate sauce.

-Consider adding nuts for more of a crunch!

-I kept a small container of lemon juice on hand and after taking a small chunk out of the apple as I was hallowing it out I quickly coated the exposed areas with the lemon juice.
